Have you ever tried to get rid of a bad habit? Or have you ever struggled to maintain a health goal? What can inspire you to live healthy? Explore with us what you can and want to do within your life and environment to build a healthier lifestyle.

WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON?

More and more people are finding it difficult to live healthy lives, and the number of people with health problems is increasing. There are many technical tools that can help people build a healthy lifestyle. For example, a sports watch or app on the phone. Unfortunately, these tools are not easy for everyone to use in a way that works for them. For many people, it is difficult to turn a number of steps taken or a heart rate into information they can use to improve their health.

Could this also be done differently?

People think differently about health and find different things important. That's why we ask: How can your values and environment be better used to live healthier lives?

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE AND WHEN?

You can participate in this study. It is important to us that you enjoy yourself while participating. We are looking for people who want to work on their health in any way. Your age or fitness is not that important to us. The most important thing is that you are motivated and curious to work on your health in a (low-threshold) way.

You can sign up alone or with a group (of about 5 people).

We are looking for people in the North-East region. But if you live somewhere else, that's no problem either. We ultimately want to contribute something for people all over the Netherlands.

As a thank you for sharing your time and knowledge you will receive a small compensation.

A quick tour of lifestyle interventions - BRAVO!

Since February 2023, WP5 PhD student Maxwell and his team analyzed health interventions targeting BRAVO areas (exercise, smoking, drinking, nutrition, stress). Physical activity, mental health and nutrition received particular attention, while interventions for alcohol/drug use and smoking were scarcer. Future programs could use wearable sensors for personalized approaches. They discovered seven unique lifestyle interventions, ranging from lifestyle coaching to sleep pattern regulation. Stay tuned for more health updates!

Healthy Living as a Service at European Night of Researchers

Healthy Living as a Service at European Night of Researchers

At the European Night of Researchers on Sept. 29, the Healthy Living as a Service project presented innovative wearables. The Fit Tech Box allowed participants to experience the impact of unhealthy habits and showed how health watches can help change behavior. Visitors discovered wearables' insights on health and lifestyle, while conversations with experienced users provided valuable input for the project. In Agustín Martinez's Art & Technology lab, visitors creatively used wearables to manipulate sounds and visual elements. A successful experience for the project!
