Our Team

The organization within the Healthy Living as a Service project consists of several working groups that work closely together. Each working group has a coordinator, who ensures that the different partners and working groups work well together.

Naomi van Stralen
Working Group 1
Naomi is 24 years old and is from Petten, a small village near Alkmaar and Den Helder. She loves knitting socks, baking and gardening. Naomi earned a Bachelor and Master's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Twente, where she specialized in the relationship between humans and technology. During her studies she gained design experience with different (vulnerable) groups. She will mainly work within Working Group 1 'Engaged People' as part of her PhD trajectory.
Agustín Martínez Caram
Working Group 2
Agustín is 40 years old and was born in Mendoza, Argentina. He is an active chess player and composes ambient and experimental electronic music under the alias Chelo Agustin. He holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Leipzig and a master's degree in Art, Design, and Technology from the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen. He is currently pursuing a professional doctorate at Hanze University of Applied Sciences within the knowledge center for art and society and will focus on Working Group 2, "Social People."
Adri Schokker
Working Group 2
Adri (49) lives in Groningen and works as a visual artist at the intersection of art, science and digital technologies. He enjoys plant-based cooking, canoeing and forest walks. In his interactive installations and workshops, Adri invites audiences to get creative and playful with a variety of materials and digital technologies. Adri is a lecturer in the Interrelational Art Practices study at the Frank Mohr Institute Master of Fine Arts and Design. In his Artistic PhD project, Adri investigates the impact of long-term creative and material interaction with digital technologies on mental well-being.
Thom de Groot
Working Group 3
Thom de Groot is 27 jaar en geboren in een dorp in noord Drenthe. In zijn vrije tijd is hij bezig met sport, lezen en bordspellen. Zijn promotieonderzoek gaat over de ontwikkeling en toepassing van draagbare meetinstrumenten voor het observeren van de menselijke gezondheid in hun directe omgeving bijvoorbeeld, de werkomgeving, thuissituaties en klinische setting. Zijn werk richt zich op het evalueren en verbeteren van het gebruik van draagbare systemen voor continue monitoring, maar ook het simultaan meten van verschillende parameters. Hij heeft een masteropleiding Biomedical Engineering – Medical Device Desing afgerond aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
Xueyi Wang
Working Group 4
Xueyi Wang, 32, was born in China and received his doctorate from RUG. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys participating in various sports such as skiing, basketball, running and diving. These hobbies reflect his dynamic and adventurous spirit and align with his dedication to understanding and promoting health and well-being through his research. Xueyi is a postdoctoral researcher with a keen interest in the field of smart health, with a focus on learning from multimodal time series data. His work focuses on harnessing the power of different types of data to improve healthcare technologies and increase patient outcomes.
Rineke Baas
Working group 5/8
Rineke is 26 years old and lives in Groningen. She enjoys making music (playing the horn and singing), reading, baking, cycling/walking, and nature. She obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Human Movement Sciences at the University of Groningen, where she conducted research on the relationship between sound production and breathing movements. She also worked for a year as a junior researcher in Arnhem, where she was involved in research into the use of technology in disability care. Her doctoral research focuses on working groups 5 "Healthy People" and 8 "Applied Toolbox."
Noa Schievink
Working Group 6
Noa Schievink (27) is een geboren Fries, maar voor haar studie al ruim acht jaar woonachtig in Groningen. Met een afgeronde bachelor Geschiedenis en een master Geschiedenis van Architectuur en Stadsplanning aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, ligt de academische focus op stedelijke ontwikkeling, met bijzondere belangstelling voor wijkvernieuwing en de leefbaarheid van steden. Naast haar inhoudelijke werkveld is er een brede interesse in cultuur en lifestyle; vrije tijd wordt graag besteed aan reizen, musea en winkelen, altijd op zoek naar nieuwe indrukken en inspiratie. In werkgroep 6 zal Noa aan de slag gaan met onderzoek naar 'Gezonde steden.'
Zijun Li
Working Group 7
Zijun Li, born in 1997 and from China, danced for 15 years and now practices chess She is very positive about life. Zijun completed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and a research master's degree in Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology. After her Bachelor's, she gained international experience and learned from other cultures. Her doctoral research focuses on long-term changes in healthy behavior, within Working Group 7 "Motivated People.
Marat Sultanov
Werkgroup 9
Marat Sultanov, 34, is postdoctoraal onderzoeker bij het UMCG en heeft een diverse academische achtergrond op het gebied van volksgezondheid, mondiale gezondheid en gezondheidseconomie. Voordat hij aan zijn proefschriftproject bij het UMCG/RUG begon, werkte hij in zijn geboorteland Kazachstan in gouvernementele en niet-gouvernementele functies op het gebied van volksgezondheid en gezondheidstechnologiebeoordeling. Zijn voortdurende interesse in de toepassing van gezondheidseconomische perspectieven op volksgezondheidsproblemen heeft hem ertoe gebracht zich aan te sluiten bij HLAS onder Werkgroep 9, waar hij zich richt op de potentiële waarde van de HLAS-toolbox. Als fervent hardloper is hij ook geïnteresseerd in het potentieel van technologieondersteund persoonlijk advies voor het veranderen van levensstijlgerelateerd gedrag en het verbeteren van gezondheidsresultaten.
